No. Kind Hues is an ammonia-free permanent hair colour. It uses a low-odour alkaliser instead, so the colour still lasts but the process is far gentler on your scalp and the smell is much softer.

Patch test 48 hours before you colour

Every time, even if you have used the shade before.

A small round patch of dark brown hair colour applied to the inner elbow and dabbed with a cotton pad
  1. Mix a pea-sized amount of colorant and developer.
  2. Dab it behind your ear or on the inner elbow and let it dry.
  3. Leave it untouched for 48 hours — do not wash the area.
  4. If you see redness, itching, burning or swelling, do not use the product.

Statutory warning

This product contains ingredients which may cause skin irritation in certain persons and a preliminary test according to the accompanying directions should first be made. This product must not be used for dyeing eyelashes or eyebrows; to do so may cause blindness. Contains phenylenediamines. Wear the gloves supplied. Not to be used by persons under 16 years of age. Do not use if you have a rash on your face, or a sensitive, irritated or damaged scalp. Do not use if you have ever experienced a reaction after colouring your hair, or a black henna temporary tattoo. Rinse hair well after application. Keep out of reach of children. Avoid contact with eyes — rinse immediately with plenty of water if the product enters the eyes and seek medical advice.
