Data Usage & Marketing Consent
This page explains what happens when you tick the newsletter and marketing box at checkout.
What you are consenting to
If the consent box is ticked when you place your order, you are telling us it's okay to contact you with our newsletter, product news, restock alerts, hair-care tips and occasional offers. It is entirely optional — you can untick it and still place your order exactly as normal.
What we use
- Your name, so messages are addressed to you.
- Your email address, for the newsletter and offers.
- Your phone number, for WhatsApp or SMS updates where relevant.
- Your order history and shade preference, so what we send is relevant rather than generic.
How often we write
Rarely, and only when there's something worth saying — typically a couple of times a month at most. We don't sell or rent your contact details to anyone, and we don't pass them to third parties for their own marketing.
Who helps us send it
We use email and messaging providers to deliver these communications, and our hosting and analytics providers store the underlying records. They act on our instructions only.
Withdrawing consent
You can opt out at any time — use the unsubscribe link in any email, reply STOP to a message, or write to info@scihogen.com and we'll remove you from marketing lists. Withdrawing consent doesn't affect order-related messages such as delivery updates, which we still need to send.
How long we keep it
We keep your marketing preference alongside your order record for up to 24 months, or until you ask us to delete it — whichever comes first.
